I was thinking that when I researched this last year. I even contacted the police and the sheriff's office, but the case was so old that they didn't have records. But some of my material indicates that some evidence was sent to the state police, so I've meant to follow up with them. Plus I'd like to at least write something for the local paper in case someone made a death bed confession or left something behind, maybe a descendant knows something. Most of the siblings of Cecil Earl have passed away but the younger generations would still like to know. The family had rumors that gambling might have been involved.
His kids were split up and raised by relatives--his wife was deaf and couldn't raise them all by herself. My Uncle George (really my cousin) was raised with my grandma and her sister, Aunt Dorothy, and he didn't know he was adopted until he was older. He grew up under the name Elschlager and only took on Paris later, when he found out. His wife is the Aunt Pauline in that other photo with me and Dave. He passed away in 1997.
